Online therapy (also known as virtual therapy, telehealth or teletherapy), has expanded the possibilities for how we are able to meet offering convenient ways to care for yourself. It can ensure you get the most out of our work by helping you maintain consistency, which is important for creating growth and change. Online sessions are conducted over HIPAA-compliant Zoom, providing a secure way to ensure your privacy.

  • If we normally meet by person, we can continue to do so if you travel often, have occasional scheduling difficulties, or other issues that would interfere with your ability to come to my office.

  • If you have health and safety concerns, you can continue to get the support you need from the comfort of your own home.  

  • Virtual sessions are a great option if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area but are unable to meet in person because distance or travel time interferes with the time you have available for our work.

  • Have young children? Online therapy could be particularly helpful as you may be able to have your session privately with the children in the next room, rather than having to leave the house or find childcare.

Note: At this time, online therapy is available only to California residents.

  • Find a private space, free from distractions

  • Confirm you have a strong wifi signal or plug directly into the router to increase the connection quality

  • Close browser tabs and unnecessary programs on your computer

  • If you share your space, ensure you are in a room in which you can close the door for privacy

  • For added privacy use headphones

  • Give yourself time to settle in for our appointment

  • Have comfort objects available (tissues, pillows, etc.)
